Weekly Wrap Up~ January 1st

>> Saturday, January 1, 2011

On The Heart and Mind:

I am sitting and reflecting what a big year this has been for us. My first ds Philip graduated from our little homeschool and got married to the sweetest lady I could ever ask to be a daughter in love. Luke is growing up and is trying on different ideas of what he might want to do in his future. Plus I see him growing into a independent thinker and has good work hard ethics. Noah is getting his feet wet with starting to really learn what it means to work hard for some money. ( He is on snow shoveling duty this winter. *grin*) And then there is Nic who is changing before our eyes. One minute he is a grump a lump and then the next minute his is as sweet as honey.

On a side note....
I have to say that I have been looking at where I am at. And I have been toying with the idea of changing a bit in my blogging. I loved Weekly Wrap Up but I am feeling burnt out on hosting meme's. I think I need to step back from this roll and just enjoy blogging where the spirit leads me. I will pass the baton on if someone wants to and if not that is okay too. I have really enjoyed being here at blogspot and feel very blessed being here. Thank you so much for making me feel at home here. ((HUGS))

On The Home Front:

We have really enjoyed our winter break. Lots of sleeping in, having fun together... sleding, playing games, baking, and having friends and family over. Also, I have gotten a lot of stitching in too. *grin*

My Craft Corner:

Go HERE for my latest update. [0=

In The Kitchen:

We got the gingerbread and shortbread made. But I still want to make some after dinner mints and truffles. That may have to be a future Farm Girls @ Heart post. ((light bulb going on))

On The Healthy Side:

I got a exercise ball to strengthen the core and back muscles and I also got a beginners Pilate's video/book set at Sally Ann's. I hope to start that this coming week.

On My Night Stand:

  • " The Prayer That Changes Everything...The Hidden Power of Praising" by Stormie Ortaman
  • " Those Who Trust in the Lord Will Not Be Disappointed" by Peggy Ruth

(((hugs))my dear Mary. Wow, it's really hard to believe from reading about your boys, how much they have changed since we have met, that only brings me to the painful reality that I am getting older ;o)
Happy New year, dear Mary. May the Lord bring you growth, peace and security like never before.
((((hugs))

You have had one big year! And I don't blame you for not wanting to host a meme, although you do it with such love. I am going to continue to wrap up my weeks on my own. I have taken time off with the holidays. Next week I will be back on the band wagon. I hope you still wrap things up here, as I like hearing about what you are thinking and what is going on.

We too have enjoyed the winter break. And with snow have had to slow down even more than planned. I for one enjoyed all of it! Back to the regular schedule on Monday.
I do understand about the meme. Wish I was more diligent with just posting. But I am planning on putting more purpose into my blogging this year. Kinda hard to explain in words but try to put more heart into it.
Oh the boys are growing up way too fast! Cherish each stage ( grumpy too!) I am going through growing pains with my lovely 16 yo daughter...but trying with all I have ( from the Lord I assure you) to be positive and uplifting with her.
Let me know how it goes with the exercise ball. I had one long ago....but I remember it being difficult. Things have changed much over the years.
Praying much joy on your week! HUGs

I can see where taking a break from hosting themes would be needed. I hope you take the break you need. Sounds like a great year with many blessings. :)

Oh my, children do grow up quite fast - don't they?

My boys are now teens and this adds another facet to our lives.

I am so blessed to have "met" you and have enjoyed visiting immensely :) May this year be filled with wonder and peace from Our Lord.

In His Name,

Maria.

Hello, Sweet Mary-Girl, and Happy New Year! Yes, it is a blessing to see these young people take their places in life isn't it? PTLing with you!

I understand about needing the meme-hosting-break. I would just love to see you blogging from the heart as you desire to :-)

May God richly bless you and your family with faith, hope, and love this 2011, and may He continue to bless our friendship with love and encouragement!

Love and {{{HUGS}}},

Hi Mary,
I am glad to see that you are enjoying yourselves for winter break, you need that!
I can totally see where you would want to take a break from hosting memes. I think that must be a responsiblity that one would want to take a vacation from as needed.
Hugs,
Antoinette

You certainly have had an eventful year, and especially the last couple months. Glad you were able to slow down and relax over the Christmas holidays.

I finally have my Weekly Wrap-Up posted, and plan to continue to do them weekly, but I don't know that I'd want to host either. I understand your need for a break!

blessings,
Kym

Enjoy your family while they are still young! My mom just wrote me that in a letter, and it is so true! We may have only a few months left with our oldest....

I'm so glad you have such a wonderful daughter-in-love! That is such a blessing.

Thank you for hosting this meme for so long. You were one of the first at HSB to welcome me, and I'm so thankful you did! But I can understand that you're quitting the hosting.

Have a very happy, stress-free new year.

Annie Kate
