Winter Is Still Here But Getting Ready For Spring

What I see out my door today....
Do you see my kitty's tracks?
Last night we started our leeks on the plant table. It is amazing how teeny tiny these seeds are. You plant them 1cm ( 1/2 inch) deep. We seeded 6 seeds each square because the germination rate of the seed was lower and then later on we will thin out for the best leek in each square.

Beautiful pictures! Did you get more snow that usual this winter or is this normal for you all?
Thank you Jenn. I took these pictures during a good snow fall. I would say it is about average. Last year we didn't get that much snow but this year it snows and then warms up. Over and over again. So our level of snow goes up and down constantly. We are also higher up the mountain so we are in the snow belt too. *grin*
Looks and sounds like things are going well up by you. Hope the plants grow well for you, and that the snow melts soon. :)

I enjoy the glimpse into your home dear friend...the planting season is already beginning here, but not in the cottage. It is my husband's joy to plant the vegetables...I take care of the beautifying - the flowers :-)

We've never planted leeks. I probably should since I love them so much.
We have spring here. It came without a bit of warning and earlier than usual. I'm trying to enjoy it while I can. Georgia spring lasts only a few weeks it seems.

Mary, these pictures are beautiful. I love the cat tracks. It sounds like you are preparing for spring even as the snow falls. My tulips are sitting up there pretty high and I'm scared for them. I hope they don't get snipped by cold.

When I was a young girl I had a huge book that was filled with the most gorgeous photos of Canada.
It is one country my hubby and I would love to see if we ever could afford it..
