Friday Farm Girls~ Dreaming of Future Sewing Projects
>> Friday, January 28, 2011
Part of being a Farm Girl @Heart is dreaming of what you want to create next. I have had a re-birth of the desire to learn to sew more and better. I have very basic skills and want to expand on them and have fun building one skill at a time with one project at a time. I have dedicated a section of my Learning Room as my sewing area. I want to have a space to be creative in this way. I love how it is also not too far from my wood stove and I will have a chance to enjoy it too. Here I have shared links to many of my dream projects and I have also invested some sewing books that I hope to share as I start using them this year. Do you have any dream projects you want to learn? What are they? Share please. [0=

Every single one is just delightful! What joy it would be if we could do it together...:)
Thank you for sharing your future projects, but also your friendship.
Your Sister In Christ - Maria.
Thanks for sharing these, Mary! I've been interested for some time now in how to make a rag-rug. This link you gave was a decent tutorial! Some of the steps I'd want to see up closer...but I think if I just gave it a try, it would make sense how it works. Very cool!
The skirt is pretty, too, and I want to make some napkins, as well. Christine uses cloth napkins...she keeps stacks and stacks of them in a rectangular basket in her kitchen. When she has guests, she just sets out the basket, and you take what you want. They're different patterns, but all coordinating color-wise. I want to use patterned fabrics, so there's no hesitancy to wipe a spaghetti-sauce-face with them, LOL!
Thank you for sharing this...it's a dreaming-sort of day, isn't it?
Blessings and {{{HUGGS}}}, my friend!
Mary,
Like you, I want to learn how to create things with my hands by sewing.
I have a "sewing area" pretty much set-up in my house in our "office" space where the computers reside. However, as I am not very good with teaching myself new skills, I haven't started this endeavor yet. Sigh!
I'd really like to make myself some long skirts and some aprons. Maybe one day I will. Only time will tell.
Keep us posted on your progress with your new projects. :)

I'll dream with you, Mary, but it'll be a long time before I attempt any of those projects! I've said it to others--I think I'll wait until I'm 70 to start learning knitting and stuff, like my mom did. I'll have more time on my hands then. :)
I can't wait to see your finished projects!
Love,
Christine
How fun! I can't wait to see finished projects!
I'm dreaming of making a scrap quilt out of all the scraps from my Oma's fabric closet.
Blessings!
Sharity
You have some very good projects lined up.I look forward to seeing them, in time,of course. :-)
Wow! I'm dreaming alongside you. I wish I had crafting time, but I have my time blocks in other needed areas right now. Maybe in another special season.
Have a restful weekend!
Oooh, what wonderful things to learn!
I can't wait to see the finished projects when you get them done be it this year or three years away!
